Description Established in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, Inc. (GLFHC) is a multi-site, mission-driven, non-profit organization employing over 600 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to a culturally diverse population throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites throughout the service area and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.
GLFHC is currently seeking an EMR Engineer to join the Information Systems Team. The primary responsibility of this position is the on-going development, maintenance, and administration of the Centricity Electronic Medical Record/Practice Management System (EMR/PM) -that is called Centricity CPS - and other related EMR/PM add-ons. The EMR Engineer is also responsible for the complete documentation of any system changes resulting from installation, integration, maintenance and support of third-party EMR/PM products. They should also maintain appropriate patch levels to all EMR/PM applications and work with EMR/PM application specific vendors to resolve issues. Perform secondary senior level support of EMR/PM and all applicable add-on software and provide support to IS staff relating to the EMR & PM technology. The EMR Engineer is expected to work with the entire Health Center team as well as the Information Services Team.
Qualifications:
• Responsible for ensuring that the EMR/PM maintains satisfactory availability and performance. Work with Information Services staff, vendors and user community to make available a fast, reliable and redundant EMR/PM environment that provides the required performance in order for GLFHC to meets its mission and objectives.
• Implement all software components directly relating to the Centricity CPS EMR/PM system.
• Monitor EMR servers and applications to proactively identify areas of concern. Make recommendations and implement upon management approval.
• Develop, maintain, test and execute EMR/PM disaster recovery policies and procedures.
• Design, implement and support EMR/PM software interfaces to the CPS EMR/PM system for medical information.
• Monitor the EMR/PM Software for general health: lab processing, error reporting and troubleshooting, electronic prescribing and other interfaces.
• Keep the EMR/PM Software updated to the latest approved versions.
• Work with DBA and other resources to ensure maximum application performance of Centricity CPS and its successors..
• Assist in installation, training, and support of any EMR/PM application used by employees of the health center.
• Document EMR/PM processes and related maintenance steps to ensure system reliability.
• Assist in the selection, support and maintenance of EMR/PM add-ons, upgrades and enhancements as required.
Requirements Experience:
Required:
• 5+ years’ experience as an EMR/PM administrator in a Windows/Citrix based environment.
• 2+ years with of Centricity Practice Solution Management, Setup and Maintenance.
• 1+years with VMware and Citrix/Xen App environments
Desirable:
• Experience with User Interface forms design.
• Ability to code in the Mel development tool.
• Windows Server 2003/2008 System Management and its successors.
• Knowledge of Medical Systems Interface protocols
• Knowledge of various storage architectures as well as archiving technologies and standards.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related experience. Extensive knowledge of EMR/PM concepts, strategies and methodologies. Extensive knowledge of practices and procedures of EMR/PM systems and technologies. Experience in the management and use of Centricity Practice Solution.
