General Statement of Duties:
Primarily responsible to lead the design, development, testing and implementation of a suite of proprietary applications, customer software applications and off the shelf technologies.
Essential Functions:
1. Analyzes user requirements, procedures and problems to automate processing or to improve the existing computer system.
2. Designs, implements and maintains automated and manual systems.
3. Develops, codes, tests, maintains and documents computer programs that automate specific business processes.
4. Works with users in the support of business applications. Closely monitors the performance of specific computer/communications network components to ensure system availability and to verify smooth system operations.
5. Implements, monitors and maintains specified systems. Defines and implements backup and recovery procedures.
6. Conducts performance tests as necessary. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct problems and maintains effective data handling, conversion and storage.
7. Identify, document, resolve and communicate solutions to system problems to users.
8. Communicate with the offshore team and coordinate requirements and enhancements.
9. Review computer system capabilities, work flow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
10. Recognize, identify and document potential areas where existing business process require change, or where new processes need to be developed and make recommendations in these areas.
11. Recommend, schedule and perform software improvements and updates. Ensures system efficiency and security.
12. Define and plan software releases in accordance with other software applications.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of EMR application experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of MEL, ASP.Net, C# & VB. Net, HTML, XML, XSL, VBScript, MS SQL Server 2005/2008, SSIS, ETL, Stored Procedures, SQL Reporting Services and Crystal Reports.
2. Knowledge of mainframe and personal computer environments, architecture and functions.
3. Knowledge of GE Centricity 9.5 PM/EMR and/or GE Centricity Practice Solution.
4. Knowledge of application compliance to GE Standards.
SKILLS:
1. Skill in dealing with creating forms design/specifications documentation and developed clinical forms, extensive expertise in MEL.
2. Skill in DTS/Linklogic implementation and support (HL-7 messages and MIK).
3. Skill in Biscom/Faxcom implementation and support.
4. Skill in coordination of daily development and support activities.
ABILITIES:
1. Ability to provide technical support in the implementation, integration, support and administration of GE Centricity 9.5 PM/EMR applications.
2. Ability to define processes and procedures and coordinate the daily development and support activities.
3. Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to the technical team.
4. Ability to work closely with the National Operations Committee to assess, plan and implement clinical forms and workflows.
5. Ability to provide effective communication regarding issues, objectives, initiatives and performance to managers.
