Large Healthcare Management Company in Southern New Jersey is seeking experienced, innovative, knowledgeable, results, and service oriented Director of Clinical Applications to manage the support, development, rollout, and strategic vision of the GE Centricity EMR application. This position will report to the Vice President of Applications within the Information Technology Department.

Reporting Structure: Reports directly to Vice President of Applications
Job Functions:
- Responsible for management of the GE Centricity EMR application and third party products, along with their associated projects and staff
- Management of EMR teams comprised of Tier-1 Application Support, Tier-2 Application Specialist, and Physician Clinical Director teams
- Participate in the strategic development of the EMR application, including meeting current and future state client needs
- Build, develop, and participate in the rollout of new clinical applications
- Serve as lead project resource on all software upgrades and responsible for managing project resources
- Manage and participate in projects as assigned involving the development of the EMR system
- Responsible for maintaining optimum communication with the system vendor, application support staff, and the users of the EMR system
- Perform other related duties as required by management
- Client Management
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with client
- Management
- Review billable Siebel cases for business justification and feasibility prior to authorization
- Responsible for team workload, assignments, and meeting take a ways
- Responsible for managing and assigning tasks/projects to the EMR team
- Formally document the design, build and testing of all EMR projects via status reports, SOW’s, Change Management, testing plans, documentation, etc.
- Translate product designs (templates/screens/problems lists/forms) into build requirements
- Vendor Management
- Attend weekly calls with GE Healthcare Support to review Centricity EMR support cases and establish priorities
- Escalate cases & priority issues as needed
- Leadership Functions
- Attend Change Control meetings and represent Clinical Applications team
- Serve as subject matter expert for GE Centricity EMR and third party EMR products
- Take part in new client design and modifications as needed
- Facilitate communication between clinical providers, technical and operational teams
- Lead and/or participate in clinical and functional design sessions and/or workgroups with multidisciplinary teams including:
- Change Management Office
- Project Management Office
- Clinical Director Meeting(s)
- Human Resource Functions
- Manage the onboarding, interviewing and hiring process for new employee candidates
- Participate in staffing need’s assessments and hiring process of new employees including interviewing and screening
- Responsible for the staff’s review process; developing review and initiating the process
- Manage and approve employee PTO requests and timesheets
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 - 10 years experience with management of GE Centricity EMR or comparable EMR system required
- Management experience and/or leadership experience preferred
- Experience using project management tools and methodologies preferred
- Hands-on involvement in the design, implementation and/or support of the GE Centricity EMR products
- Experience with front office operations, clinical or physician practice experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of the integration between applications
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge & Skills:
- Working knowledge of information systems, clinical care and clinical transformation principles
- Ability to understand and interpret clinical and technical concepts
- Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines for EMR team
- Proven experience leading projects and team members
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of groups
- Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must have excellent follow through and attention to detail
- Must be able to communicate well with physicians and clinical staff
- Experience with working under pressure and in a fast paced environment
