Large Healthcare Management Company in Southern New Jersey is seeking experienced, innovative, knowledgeable, results, and service oriented Clinical Developer to manage the design, development, and strategic vision of the GE Centricity EMR application. This position will report to the Director of Clinical Applications within the Information Technology Department.

General Summary of Duties:
The Clinical Developer for the Clinical Applications Department is a technical support team member responsible for ensuring all clinical information system development efforts are consistent with Continuum beliefs in providing accountable application and system support based on current best standards of practice. The Clinical Developer is responsible for the investigation and resolution of all application support or implementation issues relative to all EMR and third party functions, focused around clinical content. S/he supports a shared leadership philosophy, is committed to learning and mentoring peers, and advances the professional services of the Clinical Applications department.
The Clinical Developer facilitates the integration of all EMR clinical content to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision-making in all roles and settings. This support is accomplished by developing and maintaining clinical content with the use of Visual Form Editor and Text File editors, as well as standard application build knowledge and tools.
Job Functions:
- Play a key/lead role in the design and development of the EMR platform
- Develops new EMR clinical content as directed by end users and senior staff. Tests all products delivered to assure client satisfaction.
- Develops and implements research and development procedures and techniques.
- Participates in end user and project team efforts in the design, implementation of new EMR systems. Continues support after implementation for developed content.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures in particular Agile Development Methodology.
- Participates in end user and project team efforts in the design, implementation of new EMR systems. Continues support after implementation for developed content.
- Utilizes EMR expertise to determine functional and content issues and contributes in a team fashion to resolve and notify the end users to assure satisfactory resolution.
- Participates in Continuum policy and procedure formulation and decision-making, especially as it relates to EMR application support. Integrates those policies and procedures into daily work in the department.
- Documents workflow information in SharePoint and adds to the EMR Wiki
- Publicizes all Day One Impacts to end users
- Plays a collaborative role as a team member for multiple concurrent projects. May take a lead role in project team initiatives to support EMR implementations. Participates in the mentorship of new team members across all EMR teams. Demonstrates behaviors that support colleagues to optimize the EMR team performance.
- Embraces and promotes strong values in customer service. Seeks to understand and meet customer needs and expectations through communication, collaboration, and problem resolution.
- Must be familiar with the software development lifecycle as well as internal Change Management policies
- Serve as core team member on software version upgrades and downtime management
- Responsible for maintaining optimum communication with the vendors, management, and clinical teams
- Lead and/or participate in clinical and functional design sessions and/or workgroups with multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of the ICD-9 & 10 and CPT coding methodologies
- Understanding of relevant clinical medications, problems, allergies, orders, results, etc.
- Responsible for managing assigned projects and tasks
- Perform other related duties as required by management
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Care or equivalent work related experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in application support & management in the health care environment
- Experience in development on the GE Centricity EMR or CPS platform or another EMR system required
- Clinical experience is preferred but not required
- Information systems design, implementation, and support experience required
Knowledge & Skills:
- Working knowledge of information systems, clinical care and clinical transformation principles
- Ability to understand and interpret clinical and technical concepts
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Proven experience leading projects and team members
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of groups
- Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Must have excellent follow through, attention to detail, and commitment to company endeavors
- Experience with working under pressure and in a changing environment
- Understands Agile Development Methodology
- Must be able to communicate well with physicians and clinical staff
