Its a bit annoying, can there be an opt out for getting notification when I respond to a post or start a post?

wait until your reply to your own post a few times, unless you uncheck the notify me of followups each time, you will get duplicate and triplicate responses or more depending on how many times you respond to your own question.

You can click on Profile (top right), then deselect the option to send notifications of new posts.

but I like the notification of new posts, just not my new posts or my new threads... that is all.

Hi Scott,
Let me ask if I understand your problem correctly. You would like email notifications about *other* people's new posts and answers, but not *your* own posts. Is that correct?

Correct, I know when I post.
This is typically the workflow of most other forums if not all, and being a car guy, I am a member of a lot of forums with this same model.

The duplicate and triplicate email notification bug should be fixed now.
Scott,
I also removed the "feature" to email you a copy of your own post. I agree, most users don't need an email conformation, as replies are posted instantly without being held for approval.
