We often enter medications that are currently prescribed to a patient by an outside provider. There needs to be a way to mark these as current but not to be prescribed. Currently the only way to identify these is to enter them with a prescribing method of "historical" but that really isn't a state or condition. These medications will still appear on the Refill screen and there is no way to identify them as not prescribed by our physician. This leaves room for error if a nurse goes to refill a patient's medications from the refill screen. These are active medications for reference only.
