I think it would be useful to have peoples profile show which product they are running. Since users do not always post if they are using CPS or CEMR I do not know if what I post in response would be appropriate. There are quite a few differences between the two systems when it comes to the database and SQL syntax. It would be helpful to collect that data on the users profile.
Alternatively, if it wasn't attached to the profile, perhaps it could be a drop down box when you post a question. If you did it that way you could also prompt for the users current version.
After writing this post I went back and looked and found that the data is collected at the user profile level but it does not appear to be available to other users.
I'd like to recommend posting answers for any version. If you have a solution, someone else who sees the post may benefit from it. I get great, unexpected benefits from answers to questions I never thought to ask.
I only have the ability to test on Oracle CEMR and those SQL scripts will not work with MSSQL. I have knowledge of MSSQL server as well and I could write a SQL script that would probably work on CPS, it would just help if I knew in advance which one the user was asking for.
As far as version number, I have found that is helpful if someone says they are experiencing a particular issue that may have been addressed or even caused by a newer version.
I do agree with you however that I read through the questions and find out things about the system that I would have never known to ask about.
It looks like there has been a recent update to the forum to add the data in badges next to peoples username.
