The pharmacies fill several of the patient prescriptions on the 340B Program. The TPA the pharmacies have switched to, Pharmaforce, requires the pharmacy to have the name, date of birth, and patient ID # before they can fill the prescription on 340B. The name and birthdate are on the e-script but the patient ID # is not, therefore the pharmacies are having to call the Provider or nurses each time they fill a prescription on 340B to ask for the chart or patient ID #. This takes extra time for the pharmacies as well as staff. We have 340B audits monthly as well as annually. Information from the TPA is matched to the chart in our system for compliance with the 340B rules and requirements. The patient ID # is something that from my understanding the contract pharmacies need therefore adding it to the e-script is needed. Has anyone else run into this issue?
