We have started giving the 2013-2014 Influenza vaccines to patients and with the new Quadrivalent vaccines, there are no obs terms in EMR at this time. We have notified GE but have not heard anything back.
Does anyone have any recommendations where we can document the new vaccines where the clinicians can see it at a glance? We cannot put it in a flowsheet due to our interface with the state registry because it will send them an incorrect vaccine.

What immunization form are you using to document? The Immunization Management GE form is the one our office are currently using and it does have some OBS terms for the flu vaccines, but they are named CVX141B (flulaval, etc.). Now with that, we have been told that there are some issues with this form and GE is working on some corrections. I have no ETA when those corrections are coming out. A lot of the VIS dates are incorrect etc.
Now for the flowsheet, if you use the Immu Management GE form.....you can build the flowsheet and change the display name to something that makes sense instead of the CVX141B.
We use the Immunization Management-GE form and we are aware of the issues also. Our interface with the state registry for immunizations brought it to our attention that the new CVX codes were erroring in their system.
FYI - I just got an email from GE that the new Immunization Management-GE form updates should be ready by next week.
