Has anyone made the brave jump and upgraded to 12.0.8? If so, how was it? Any issues?
planning on upgrading my test environment within a week or so.
will keep you posted.
I did it on my test server twice. The server upgrade worked and installed very quickly. The jboss remove/reinstall went well too, but when I try to login I get a big red error message:
"A system error has occurred. Pleas contact your system administrator for assistance (ExceptionID:"
That's it. It says ExceptionID: and then nothing. The most important part is missing. I can recall this happening when I put 12.0.7 on the server and found the case in the GE portal. I seem to recall that reinstalling Jboss was the fix. So I tried again:
Uninstall Jboss
Delete C:\Program Files\Centricity... directory on app server
Install Jboss and website
Still can't login, even with superuser. I also reset user defaults, reset security settings, etc
If I go to https://servername/ it gives me the indication that jboss is running fine.
I looked up the old case for 12.0.7 and it seemed to have something to do with teh amount of RAM reported in wrapper.conf. I caused that issue last time because I increased the amount of RAM after installing jboss. This time it did not change. I have vmware snapshots to move forward/back between 12.0.8 and 12.0.7 so I will try that next.
I did not open a case with GE yet since I need a functional test server for other purposes and can't leave it in this state. Maybe I will be able to ask some questions at the conference next week.
I hope this won't happen to me when I do it in production. If it does I need to know how to bail myself out.

I am planning on upgrading SP8 on May 16th.. My SP7 update went really good I am hoping for the same outcome with SP8.
Were making the jump from CPS10 to CPS12.0.8 on May 16th. I've had LA3 of SP8 in my test environment for a few weeks and all seems good. i.e. I don't see it breaking anything that wasn't broken in SP7.
tnc: Did you re-do your security connection settings to AD from within ServerSetup (if applicable)? Our connection will appear to be correct, but we have had to re-do (entering the specific IPs of our AD servers) with every SP install.
May 16th seems to be a popular date. We are too waiting for May 16th, just for SP7, or if CHUG produces popular results, we are going to extend one month and go to SP8. Not really crazy about jumping on anything CPS that hasn't been out there for a little while. - Shane Kemp NFLWC
Sam-Yes I did. Once GE called to look at it, it just magically worked though so I didn't really learn anything. I certainly was patient enough sicne I did it over a weekend and came in on Monday and it still didn't work but somcehow it just worked when GE started to look at it.
It seems to happen on my test servers only. 12.0.7 did the same thing and GE was convinced it had something to do with wrapper.conf not being updated to the appropriate amount of RAM since I added some to the VM after the jboss install. That was a valuable lesson to learn at least but did not apply in this case
