I am wondering how other practices reschedule appointments. We were doing the drop into the Appointment Clipboard and then drag back into the schedule. However, we have found that there is no audit trail (PM is CPS 10) and it is not compatible with our new EHR - Allscripts Enterprise. We have been told we now have to cancel the appointment and make a completely new one for the interface to work. I think that is cumbersome and not a good plan long term. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated.
The only time we use the clipboard is if we are just moving an appointment to a different time slot on the same day. You are right if you use it there is no audit trail and we charge for No show's and our providers will choose sometimes to charge if rescheduled the same day as well as potiential termination for chronic no show/resch same day patients so we have to have the audit trail.
We also dislike greatly the fact that there is no audit trail for routing. You can see who routed it last but nothing else. This has been an issue for some of our staff and providers.
