We are using InDx Logic for our document management system. When we open the imported documents from the chart it opens in a web browser but with Adobe controls (like a PDF). When sending a message from the Messaging tab and selecting these external documents it only sends the chart view, not the actual attachment. So the recipient gets an RTF file that when viewed it just says it is a scanned document. It doesn't send the actual attachment. Another InDx Logic customer goes through the exact same steps but their recipient gets the RTF and a PDF as the actual document. We can't figure out what we're missing on our side to reproduce the same results. When sending information to specialists we'd like to do everything from the Messaging tab and not have to print those documents and send separately. Thank you for any advice you can provide.
If using Surescripts SM, in the smpp config tool, under Integration, check your data source config, image server tab and make sure integrated document management is checked along with check box below it to use integrated image server integration. I think that was our issue and why we couldn't attach patient education as pdf, it only sent link. After that was checked, we then saw column for attachments when sending a msg.
Thank you so much for your input! When looking more into these settings it states we need "Document Management" installed to utilize those settings. Unfortunately we don't use that. We are transitioning from Visualutions VisDoc to InDx Logic as our Document Management solution. Thank you again though... if you think of anything else we're all ears! 🙂
Just for kicks I enabled the setting you suggested (we've tried everything else so why not). Even though it says you need the Document Management component installed it worked for our InDx Logic documents! I'm getting an error every time I try to attach a VisDoc document but at least we're getting success for the InDx Logic docs! VisDoc has it's own file type & viewer so that may be the issue but we're getting somewhere! Thank you for your advice!
