Most of our providers use dragon when dictating. Is there a way to add a note for those providers when they sign that states that dragon was used? I know I could add a text component to the encounter types but since all providers are not using dragon I would only want it to show with set providers.
We have providers who dictate using dragon. For those providers, we have a text component "Dragon Disclaimer" which says: (This note was created using voice recognition software and potential phonics, terminology or grammatical mistakes may be present.) We include this text component at the bottom of their document template definitions. - Beverly
Our providers that use it are requesting that it automatically pull to every note, but since we have 2 providers who do not use dragon I can' t do this. They have a text component set up as well as a quick text for dragon but they don't want to have to put that in to each note. So I was wondering if there was a work around where I could assign it to automatically pull in for specific providers. Sorry I hope that I am making sense......
You could make a second set of Encounter types / Document types for the providers that dictate.
In the new document types, include the Dragon Disclaimer at the bottom. Then train your doctors who dictate to use these new Encounter types. If you are comfortable creating dragon voice macros, you can set up a .signdrg quicktext that imports the text component of the dragon disclaimer either before or after signing - then train a new voice macro for signing that pastes this .signdrg quicktext plus a space (focus in the encounter needs to be in a multiline edit field or editable part of the chart note) so that it triggers the quicktext. - Beverly
Just as an FYI you can use the note but when ran this by our malpractice insurance company they said the note effectively means nothing in court. It's still the doctors responsibility to read any correct any errors. Same applies for the old style dictation.
