As far as I know encrypting a Bootcamped Mac running Yosemite isn't possible right now. Is the only way around this to run virtualization software and virtualize a windows environment and if so, how does centricity work(or does it do well at all) in this scenario?
I'm curious about everyone's encryption approach on the desktop clients from this and other posts. I was reading GE's Certification submission to Drummond earlier this year and they explicitly state how EHR does not store any PHI locally.
If there's no PHI on the client, why encrypt on a local device?
"Regarding the ability to disable encryption status:
Typical users cannot disable encryption. Encryption of the audit log occurs at the database-level, and by design, cannot be disabled. Encryption of the end user device is not required as no PHI is stored on the end user device."
I don't think we have any encryption on our desktop clients, but we have VPN access on our mobile devices - which I believe is the driving reason for our mobile encryption.
*edit for typo
our Encryption and Security is done on the server and network side.
we use citrix and VMware Horizon for remote access and mobility.
