We upgraded CPS from version 10 to 12 which also forced us to upgrade Dragon from Dragon Medical 10 to Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 (or v12). Clinically Speaking informed us that Dragon 10 is not compatible with CPS 12 and we needed to upgrade. In order for the new version of Dragon to work at its best with CPS 12, we had to make a few setting changes, however, a few of the physicians are experiencing some strange issues. The Dragon bar will disappear from the desktop while the physician is in the middle of dictation with no error message. In order for Dragon to come back up, they have to open Dragon again. We've also seen where Dragon has to shut down and we actually get an error message. Dragon support has looked at the error logs and there is not anything that stands out or tells them what is causing the problem. The only solution they have at this point is to create a new profile. Of course, the physician is hesitant to go this route since it taken a while to train their Dragon.
Has anyone else been experiencing any issues similar to ours?
Thank you!

I haven't seen any of the issues you speak of and we are on CPS12/Dragon 12. I have had to suggest a voice file rebuild on several ocassions over the years. It does not take much time at all to retrain these days, and you can export the custom things easily (Clinically Speaking can do that for you). I will say that it is important to configure the machines to do the automated tune up (Acoustic optimizer). It runs at night but you may need to set the job to utilize domain login credentials

Thank you Mike, I appreciate your feedback. After some convincing with the physician, we were able to create a new Dragon profile for him. He's going on his third day of using it and it seems to have resolved his issues. We are actually about to create a new profile for another physician now. I will also look into the acoustic optimizer to see if that's something we will move forward with.
Thanks again!
