Any early takers on CPS 12.2 or EMR 9.10? We are currently applying it to a test database. We will report any issues that we have. If anyone else is taking the plunge, I would love to hear your feedback.
We should also be installing in our Test environment this week.
Steve
Working on my Test environment now also. Let you know what I find when I get it done.
Brave Souls...look forward to hearing the feedback.
We are looking to get 9.10 in our test environment as well. Does 9.10 include SP13? Can't find documentation to state if we have to do SP13 first?
Stacey
Service pack 13 is for 9.8. EMR 9.10 is a version upgrade and will get its own service packs. I believe 9.10 includes the Service pack 13 updates for regulatory reporting. Look at both release notes.
Tagging along. Would like to know what all issues come up.
Mine was straight forward (Test server for now). Went off without a hitch. The first thing I noticed was the new shortcut of C:\program files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe "http"//cpstestjboss:9080/centricityps/cps" which forces internet explorer even if Chrome or Firefox is your default browser. This tiny improvement will save lots of headaches and now I can get rid of a script I run daily.
I do want to explore the .msi file deployment which was promised. I do not seem to see any pdf instruction file for this update though. I do have a directory on the root of c:\ called 12.2.0.2950 which has a cps_client.msi file in it. It looks to be pretty generic so I would need a way to add in the URL for my server. The pdf in there is 1k in size and appears to be damaged.
Anyone know where the instructions are? The GE link I have do not seem to have a pdf file associated with it.

GE released SP13 (for CPS and EMR) in case you aren't ready to go to CPS 12.2 yet due to the requirements of SQL2208r2 SP2 and Windows 2012r2 server (RDP). Maybe you'll need to upgrade your RDP servers to 2012r2? I am in a fat client environment so that doesn't apply to me anyway.
SP13 will get you the Quality Reporting for 2016/17 without having to upgrade the Windows/SQL software to get to 12.2.

Mike Z, I did some investigating and that PDF file is a "Package Definition File" rather that a "Portable Document Format". It has setup instructions to use with the MSI. You can look at it with a text editor. See this article:
That helps. Thanks
Mike
I have to say I am impressed with the .msi deployment and the great documentation. I have been waiting for years to get something like this and I am glad GE listened. I did notice something but it could be due to my test environment not having a link logic configuration. When I do the client install manually it works fine; CPS comes up and goes right into the product without any messages/notifications. If I use the GPO msi deployment I get a "link logic folder not found, Browse for it now?" dialogue. I don't want this to show up when I do the push in production.
I see they give you a "play by play" when starting a new update. I get a "Creating form component" count while loading. It helps me understand what is actually happening behind the scenes when starting an update.

I've seen that message when the llogic directory is not defined in the database. We're deployed on terminal servers so we can't have it mapped to the local client directory. You may want to configure one for your test environment to verify that the message goes away.
We are running behind deploying in Test, I currently have providers testing a lab/rad/trans interface change in Test.
Steve
I think the msi may have deployed the test client with DTS because there is a llogic directory structure under the client directory. When I do the install manually using the typical (not custom) option, DTS workstation does not get installed and I am not presented with the "search for llogic folder" query. I don't see any option to suppress the linklogic station option in the directions.
Well said. 🙂
