If I was able to convince the powers that be to allow us to go to one conference this year which should I request? Has anyone been to both? Which did you find more useful?
We are looking to send both myself (IT/Programming/DB/Admin) as well as our Operations Manager.
If you click on 'Conferences' you can see that the Centricity LIVE is more than just CHUG. The event has sessions, vendors, discussions about more than simply Centricity Healthcare (CHUG).
While the recent show slides are protected, you can look at prior slideshow presentations from CHUG -- https://centricityusers.com/fall-2016/
The tracks for CLive are here -- https://centricityusers.com/chug-clive-2018/ And while CHUG is one part of the CLive, there is quite a bit of CHUG there.
Thus, the answer for you may depend on if you have a need to see any of the other tracks that happen at CLive, or if you are simply wanting CHUG content. And also the timing of the shows - spring or fall.
In my experience of having gone to both, there are benefits to each:
CLive - More classes, tracks and vendors. CHUG is there as well. More Attendees to meet, GE reveals more about upcoming updates at this conference.
CHUG - Smaller (but still sizable) group. more focused on using the software efficiently, less business to talk with vendors, Easier to meet people with a more chill atmosphere.
I don't think you will regret either choice you make, and you will get very similar experiences going to both. I would say, ask yourself if you need to learn more on what is coming soon, or how to better leverage your current system now, and then consider time, place, etc... as Joe mentioned above.
Good luck!
Daniel C.
I would recommend going to the CHUG conference due to the focus on the Centricity Practice product and that you will be networking with other CPS users.
Both are valuable and I have attended both of them for years. I've just found that at CLive, there is a chance that you may end up going to a Non-CPS related session. The left column of this page displays the variety of tracks/products/topics of the sessions. https://www.travelhq.com/ecsagendacatalog/#/catalog/CentricityLive
Also, when networking at meals or after-hours functions at CLive you need to pay attention to the lanyard colors and name-tag ribbons if you want to talk shop.
