I have been a CPS user for over 11 years, and have attended the CHUG conferences as well as worked alongside hundreds of other users over the years. I am fairly new in my position but my manager has hired a third-party vendor for our analytics and some other automated features, these are intended to compliment CPS. However we installed the conveyance manager and the transactions are being applied as “payments” at the line item level. It’s always been my practice to select “conveyance” in the drop down. As far as know this is the gold standard across the board. However, the automated program handles the transaction as a $-0.00/$0.00 (minus/plus) and selects payment at the line item rather than conveyance.
Mathematically this does not disrupt our revenue or reporting but its inaccurate and it’s important to distinguish between the two. What are your thoughts on this? Do you use the conveyance option when moving money around?
Hello Ms. Jill:
Moving money from ticket to ticket at the patient level would be a conveyance, especially as a zero dollar transaction. Insurance to Insurance that is a different issue; however, I believe you are referring to patient to patient transaction. If not let me know and I would be happy to chat with you regarding an insurance to insurance transaction.
Thank you,
