Hi, everyone!
We don't really have a procedure for this, but thought others must have already thought this through...
We're on EMR 9.6.
We would like to create a training environment that is chock full of information, but that has been scrubbed of any real patient information. If there's any way to copy the info from the single-user version, that would be fantastic. Or, maybe we need to begin by copying our live database and then scrubbing out the patient-identifiers?
Does anyone already have this process down?
Thanks so much!
I do not believe the single-user versions are released anymore, GE is transitioning to Computer Based Training (CBT) modules that you subscribe to from what I have been told. That being said, currently licenses GE customers should be able to obtain training licenses for a test system.
As for the "building" of your test system, I know of companies that simply replicate their Production data (patients, users, configs, etc.) into their Test environment and maintain it securely as such. GE support can help you do this if you choose to go this route. Otherwise, unless you have long-term test patients with data you can export, you're looking at re-building from scratch.
I am finalizing the setup of our Test CPS 11 environment and will create a handful of test patients to start with. After that, I plan to implement training workbooks for staff/providers to complete prior to upgrade to ensure their competency and to document their training.

We always use a copy of our live data for testing. We only have authorized staff in our test DB anyway so there is no HIPAA issue there. It also helps to get a feel for how long the upgrade is going to take and if there is a DB issue.
