We are on EMR 9.5 SP 3 and after installing SP 3 we started getting complaints from providers when they had to print a prescription that there is a delay. We tested out and it is a random issue but when it happens the screen becomes frozen for over a minute and sometimes close to 2 minutes and you are not able to do anything. Ran trace files and sent to GE. GE stated that there is an issue but they have not been able to identify what is the cause. In the meantime our providers are really getting upset as they cannot continue to work when the screen freezes.
I just recently heard back from GE as I keep putting pressure on them for an update and here is what they have to say:
This defect has been reviewed by our defect review board and slated for resolution in a future EMR version. Unfortunately I cannot give you a specific version or timeline for fix. I can say that the fix is not scheduled for inclusion in the EMR 9.5.4 release that is expected in Q1 2013. I do not currently have visibility to releases beyond 9.5.4. Prioritization of defect fixes is highly dependent on the overall impact of an issue including severity of the issue and the number of customers reporting a negative impact. This information is weighted for all reported defects and prioritized accordingly.
So if anyone out there is having the same issue please put pressure on GE to get this resolved right away.
If you have not filed a ticket with GE and you discover that you are having the issue please reference SPR 52546.
