Do you, and if so, how do you track sample meds? The example would be that a recall is issued on a particular lot of a medication you gave samples for. Are you tracking lots, manufacturer, etc.? Or would you just notify everyone you gave a sample of that drug to, not knowing if it was really involved in a recall? Use a form, paper?

Hi David, I was waiting to see if you got any replies to this. As a general recommendation, Samples should be marked in the system under medications as "samples" every time one is given out. In the instance that a drug is recalled, the medication can be easily tracked. If necessary, lot numbers and other identifying information can be entered in the med notes. Instructions can be printed off as needed for patients. Hope this helps.
We use the same process using the medication module and then you can put the info into the comment section as well.
