Our clinic is looking to develop best practices for document management. We are a large multi-specialty group that has been using Centricity/Logician for over 15 years. Our growing practice has added several new specialties in the past few years and we are trying to develop document management standards for a complex shared EHR.
We are specifically looking for a clinic that is willing to share standards or information regarding: document types/ naming conventions, protocols for indexing to the chart and protocols to determine what documents are routed to the physician for review/sign off.
Current challenges we are encountering are:
- Desktop Management for Provider- Physicians are encountering a large amount of "clutter" on their desktop requiring their review/signature. We would like to reduce the amount of documents sent to desktops for physician review and signature.
- Inconsistent Usage of Document Types and Summary Lines- Specialty specific versus more generic categories.
- Customizing the Document View-
We are looking for another multi-specialty clinic that would be willing to meet with us and discuss their best practices for these challenges. If you are interested, please reply to this post and we can share contact information.
