Does anyone have a patient self scheduling solution in place that integrates with EMR 9.8 and Group Management? What is the product and how is it working for you.
ZocDoc can be used to read your Centricity schedule and display available time slots for patients to book. If you are large enough, it will book right in Centricity.
we use Medfusion - https://www.medfusion.com/nexsched-patient-scheduling/
Yes contact MD-EMR we use Odoro. Great system that integrates with centricity. Patients see the live schedule pick their day and time and it flows right into Centricity schedule.
What version of Centricity are you on? We are on EMR 9.8 and Group Management for our practice management.
Thanks for the reply. We used to have Medfusion's portal. We demo'd their PSS solution but it doesn't work with our Group Management
May I ask what version you're on? We're and EMR 9.8 client with Group Management for our practice management. We're not on CPS.
Medfusion just acquire a company last month called Nexsched - maybe it will work with your setup now?
We are on CPS 12.13. Here is Mike Duckworth's e-mail. Mike Duckworth <[email protected]>. He can answer all your questions.
We are on CPS 12.2 with EZAccess Patient Portal, which includes the scheduling option. Ours works great. We allow patients to schedule up to 24 hours in advance of the schedule. (Same day could get tricky with sick visits as we are a busy peds office.) We have ours set up to require our approval before actual booking, so the appointment is in a "pending" status until we ok it. That way, we have the final say. (Although, we do have the option to auto approve the appointment requests.) If we approve the appointment, then it automatically updates in Centricity and notifies the patient. However, when scheduling an appointment, the patient/family has to list alternate acceptable appointment times (i.e. Tuesday and Thursday from 1-3pm). This way, if we deny the appointment they requested, we can book an alternate acceptable time. So, the response that goes back to the patient includes a new appointment. They have the option to keep the proposed appointment or cancel and select something new from the patient portal scheduling feature. Good luck!
Sounds like a nice solution, Can you tell me who provided it? I'd like to look into it further.
We purchase ours through our VAR, Virtual OfficeWare, out of Pittsburgh. I will say that the EZAccess product is very robust. All of our messaging with patient and specialists (direct messaging) is handled through the patient portal. Reminders, cancellations, no show notices, billing, payment, refill requests, and more are handled through the patient portal. There is so much available to our patients, which gives us high patient (parent) compliance with the patient portal - families who actually use the portal regularly. Our next adventure will be trying out telemedicine, which is also available through EZAccess. Here is a link to the Virtual OfficeWare website. If you click on the patient portal button, there is more information:
