We are having issues posting ERA in Centricity. The remits are either missing line items or other info, or incorrectly releasing denied items to the patient. We receive all remits via paper and thought getting ERA set up would save us time. It seems it's a very complicated process that *should* work most of the time. I'm questioning if it's even worth it and if anyone else has these issues?
In my years of support i found remit issues are due to the following:
1. When the 835 arrives, it looks at the PAYOR LITERAL with the carrier with the lowest centricity ID and uses those EDI response processors. This can make troubleshooting a pain.
2. Transaction column sets may not be set up correctly and transfer items to patient due when you don't want it to. This can be fixed.
3. The payor (mostly state payors) sends the 835 file back with something "amiss" where it can't post.
4. The EDI Response Processors are not set up to meet your needs and should be reviewed and optimized for not only automated posting but also denial management optimization.
I suggest contact support to help you troubleshoot until it posts just how you want it to post. Of course, CHUG is an awesome resource as well for help!!
