Hi All,
I cannot for the life of my find the post on here but I remember there being a reference to an issue found with CPS 12 (PM system) and the CEMR (9.8) related to the Ethnicity mapping. We have a few practices who use CPS as their PM system and they have systematic issues with the demographic results - almost entirely related to Ethnicity - is this a known issue with CPS/GE? Does anyone know if there is an SR related to it? Or if it had been fixed in subsequent releases of the CPS system?
Thanks
Mike
I assume you're talking about an inbound lab HL7 interface? Can you be more specific?
We're on CPS 12 and receiving race and ethnicity. I recall having some issues mostly due to poor documentation.
Hi,
Yes it would be the inbound ADT message coming from the PM system (which is CPS) to our CEMR (what our organization uses for the medical record). From what I remember, it was awhile ago, the issue was related to how CPS sends the ethnicity field so it ends up either sending incorrect values or nothing at all - I am going to review with my interface analyst and the practice who uses CPS as their PM system to pinpoint the issue but I wasn't sure if others had seen this and could remember if it is still a GE bug or not.
Not sure if it helps or not but I think it was a bug specific to CPS as a PM for a C-EMR medical record.
Thanks
Mike
I don't know why I said lab interface. Not enough coffee yet. Demo interface. The MIK can be finicky. Can you be more specific about the issue? My first guess is that the value being exported is not the value expected on the import side.
Have you mapped your ethnicity correctly on your MIK to make sure that it match the values that CEMR understand?
