Reaching out to get some examples of how your practices are meeting the measure of implementing 5 clinical decision support interventions. Every time I read through the measure I'm just seeing "words" and it's not making sense to me.
Thanks!
We use the protocols to meet this measure. Each protocol counts as a clinical decision support intervention if they are based on the USPS or Treatment/Diagnostic related treatment interventions.
Mike, so how is the system counting that you addressed the protocol?
can you provide one example/scenario Mike?
We are multi-specialty so the decisions vary based on the specialty and I have built them using the CCC-PSIA. An example from ENT is if a patient has a dx of Thyroid CA, 193.__ on their active problem list have they had a Ionized Calcium done in the last year. The system looks for the Dx and lab (as a structured value) if it can't find the lab it will ask if you want to order it. The physician can say yes or no, and I can pull the audit logs in the reports.

Thank you Steph. That was helpful.
Does GE provide a list of available Clinical Decision Support options?
This is still a Yes/No attestation in stage 2. We are simply keeping a screen shot of the measures we are using.
We have simple things, and create data display in forms. for example, if fracture diagnosis, in the plan form, 'do you want x-rays at next visit' If smoker, do you want to counsel on quitting, if BMI > do you want to counsel on weight management. Bonus is these also help with CQMs. If female- check for pregnancy prior to x-ray.
Can you tell or show me how to write a protocol or a User Yes/No/OK popup? We may not necessarily need a protocol as we simply want a pop-up to occur when a "procedure scheduling form" is used and where the patient is on an anticoagulant as an ALERT to staff.
