Does anyone know of a way to fax a Handout/Letter directly from an encounter? My docs are wanting to cut down on dictation and would like to send letters directly to referring docs or PCPs. Would Faxcom pick up the form? Can it be automated?
if you have the faxcom printer installed, it you can print anything to fax.
We have faxcom, but the doctors are wanting something with 1 click option (which I think is highly unlikely). To quote one:
"Kim, I want to push a button that says letter sent and it automatically go to Dr. XYZ"
Hmmm... it may be doable, but would involve a lot of thought and programming. I do these types of things all the time. I will have to think of a way to do this. Feel free to send me an email, we can discuss of a possible solution.
When you are in the chart, go to Options and then Printers. Set your handouts and letters to the biscom fax or add to list fax. With Biscom fax, you would need to have the Referring provider set up as a service provider. With add to list, you can add any fax number you would like. This option takes you via outlook's fax.
Hi, We are using sure scripts automated clinical messaging (ACM) to send our finalized office visit notes back to the referring/pcp offices.
If you have direct messaging accounts set up, it can direct message the notes. Or you can use biscom to auto fax.
We send direct, and if the provider doesn't have a direct address, the system sees that an automatically defaults to fax!
It is great and we have removed the manual duty of faxing back finalized notes!
