I am finding it really difficult to find any content on the HTML forms other than how to install them.
We are getting ready to upgrade our system to 12.2 and wanted to implement the HTML forms at that time.
I am trying to set up our Administered Medications list and noticed that when I add a medication it goes to the bottom of the list. I want to be able to organize these alphabetically but am not seeing an obvious way to do so. Surely there is a way. Right??
I can't imagine the solution is setting the list up alphabetically by adding them in that order and then having to redo the whole list should I need to add a med to the dropdown in the future....
We have been frustrated in trying to get these to sort as well. We did go through moving them around in the admin list, and it had no effect on what the user sees in production.
I have messed with the HTML and JavaScript to change some parts of the form, so perhaps the key is to apply a sort in the files instead of in CPS. I haven't tried this yet, so it may not be feasible.
We are on EMR and when you set the list up, you can sort them alphabetically by clicking and moving them up or down, but the users still don't see them alphabetically when documenting.
I have found that end users can start typing the first letter of the med in the Select Med Field and continue typing that letter until they find the appropriate med. But that is the only short cut I have found to find what they want. A little easier than scrolling through each med.
Maybe this will be fixed one of these days
We are on CPS 12.2 and have been using the html forms for awhile now. When in administration, in order to organize the custom med lists alphabetically, you just click/drag and drop in the list where you want the med. If you go straight to a chart and try to look at the form, you will see that it did not change. However, if you log out of EMR, and then log back in, it will work then. I find that to be true of a lot of changes that I make. They take effect the next time I log in. Give that a try... hope that helps!
Clicking and dragging did work to arrange them in admin but is disappointing that it doesn't change what the end users will see....
Just to vent some more.....
I also don't like how once you close the HTML form you have to use a button to launch it again if you need to return to the Immunization Management or Medication Administration forms. Wish they would function the same as the FH, SH and Prescription HTML forms and just open when you click on the form in the list within the encounter.
I did log out and back in and it was not updated. But once I closed the application completely and logged back in it was updated. Thank you!! What a relief!
See the response from Patricia. Apparently it does update for the end users but does not do so until the next time the application is opened. 🙂
Our html forms do open when we click on the form in the list. Maybe it has to do with being on the latest service pack?
I'm glad that worked for you. We actually like the html forms better. It is a little bit of adjustment, but I like having the ability to customize my content, and they seem to function better. They aren't as quirky as the old forms. I have been told by our VAR that we can expect to see more html forms in the future. Wait until you get incoming direct messages and get to use the reconciliation form. (Launched by the "Reconcile" button on the HPI-CCC form.) We are now importing meds, problems, and allergies into Centricity directly from the specialist with just a few clicks.
They do open the first time each time the encounter is opened but if they are closed and you want to return to the form a second time while you have the encounter open the button has to be used. Minor issue but I know I will hear complaints about that and the fact that you have to close the form before moving to another form within the encounter.
But I am hoping they prove to be an improvement from the CCC forms. We were running into a lot of problems when we needed to give more than one Meningococcal vaccine or Kenalog injections in multiple sites.
Thank you for all your input 🙂
Ours open every time we click on them - even if we go back to them. Maybe that will work for you when you update. I will say that I can recall there being some issues in the very beginning with pop-up blockers or internet settings or something. I wish I remembered in better detail, but once that was fixed, our forms opened every time without any issue. If it's still not working after your update, I would ask your IT person to take a look at your settings.
