How does everyone deal with PDF compression especially once they have been indexed into the CPS? We are using DocuTrack, and do not want to burden the providers or staff with optimizing each PDF file that they want to add.
We use the fujitsu scanners with their proprietary software. It works out well. Also, our copy machines are connected to our network and we can scan using those as well. in PDF and jpg formats.
Adobe Acrobat Professional has the capability to optimize all pdf files in a given folder regardless of how or when they're stored. Because Docutrak organizes files by month, doing this monthly makes sense for us. I haven't figured out a way to act on files in a watched folder.
I'm assuming here, but from your text "...optimize each PDF file that they want to add." It sounds like you're inquiring about compressing files that originate digitally? Not from scanned papers in the office.
Can you clarify the workflow you're wanting to reduce the file sizes of?
