I have a group of physicians looking to join our practice. We are looking to migrate their patients over to our system. We need to create the patients in Group Management before migrating the chart data to Centricity. My question is, has anyone ever done this before? How do I begin? We did this a few years back and we have an inbound interface set up in Group Management. But how do I know if that interface will work and how does it get turned on? Where do the messages have to be dropped in order for GM to receive the transactions?
Please help!
I have an inbound charge interface into Centricity GM. It works by dumping the files via FTP into a folder on the server. We have an 80 page document that they provided us specifically for setting up the standard inbound charge interface.By the sounds of it you are looking to import Demographic data which would be an ADT interface. I didn't think that they allowed inbound demographics but that was just from a conversation I had with one of my coworkers, not from GE directly. If they do allow it I am sure they have a similar document for an ADT interface.
If they do not allow inbound demographics, they will for sure have a way to import patients into the system so you will need to find out how that is done. I think your best bet would be to give them a call or log a ticket and ask. Unlike the EMR support team we usually get almost immediate support from the GM folks when we open tickets.
I'm not sure what Centricity GM is. CPS allows demographic import via ADT message via MIK and DTS/LL.
You have probably figured this out by now, however I just noticed your post. We have an inbound Demographics into GM from one of our anesthesia group's hospitals. It's set up through the interface product of CCG and we use Anne-Kathryn (Katy) Hart, GE Engineer, to assist when like now the hospital changed the data formatting and various changes must be made on the CCG side.
