How are you handling ABN for labs, is everyone using the built in option for keying on insurance? We are trying to find something that would check and generate the letter. Any help or hearing how you are handling this would be great. Thank you!

We use a middleware called EMRLink from Liaison (formerly Ignis). The ABN is needed whether we do the lab in our office or have to send it to a reference lab. It also helps us manage insurance carve-outs that we cannot do in-house. Our interfaces with outside labs though EMRLink handles the order code matching so the orders complete when signed. Centricity will not handle these functions on its own. They have some nice added reporting benefits as well. Liaison interfaces two outside labs for us.
They were by far the most impressive company we worked with on our implementation. They know the CPS system better and have been far more helpful than our CPS vendor.
