If a patient has been prescribed cannabis or marijuana, is there a way to record that in the patients chart on the medication list ?

I think your best bet is to record it as an uncoded medication. If you want consistency in the way your providers add this medication, you can create a Custom List with specific options.

I suggest the same as above.

Laurie - thank you for showing me how to do this.
For anyone else, here is how to ADD an UNCODED MEDICATION
You have to do this from a "test patient", in an update, and have a custom medication list that you will want to add it to.
so, To add marijuana (uncoded)
for patient: "TESTMALE TEST" create a new update
click on the [Meds] to bring up "Update Medications" window
click [New] to bring up "New Medication" window
Select the custom list from the dropdown to add this medication to.
Fill out the "Define Medication" section:
Medication: marijuana for medical use
Instrucions: .... whatever ...
Comments: ... whatever ...
FINALLY,
In the lower Left corner, check this
Add to custom list: [X] Medication
there is also a checkbox for Instructions, not sure if you need to click this too, up to you.
