We are using Medfusion which integrates with Centricity. This integration came with built in Document Templates to answer Secure Messages. Once the user Appends the document and selects "full doc update" and then selects "E-mail message" it brings them to the Document Update screen.
With the "forms" button selected, this screen created by Medfusion has a basic email response design from which I can choose a "Template". These templates are created from text components.
Once I select the Template it is loaded into the email message.
In order to edit this message effectively it will be best to click the "Text" button and toggle to that view. This helps the user to see the original email message and the new message at the same time.
What I am running into is that the "Text Component" is "locked" in the Text window (the text is blue). This makes a hassle in editing the message as the user would have to toggle back and forth from "Forms" to "Text" until the email is complete.
Does anyone use Medfusion?? Do you know a way to make these Text Components editable within a Document Template??
You aren't going to like my answer but there is no other way to do it-- you will have to toggle between forms and text just like you said you are doing. A great enhancement to Medfusion would be to pull the AAS message from the patient into secure message template.
Your only other option would by to type out the message in text, copy and paste it back into the form.
Well that is annoying. Just a follow up question. Within the Text Component is there no way to create an editable field like adding a text box?
Option 2. I was thinking about experimenting with Quick texts for this type of function, then the staff could just fill in the blanks. The only hassle with this is to make sure that each staff member uses the same Subject line.
You can create your own text components and pull it in from the templates to the secure messaging box? Is that what you mean?
Quick text is supported within the text component - we use both, custom templates and text. See attached- hope that helps?
