Good Afternoon Chugger's,
Curious to know how everyone is capturing the provider's order for an immunization to be given?
1. Is the nursing staff just reviewing the signed service order that is placed in Orders by the provider's?
2 Are the provider's using the Hold button in the HTML Immunization Management form for immunizations that need to be given?
3, Are the provider's using some other form or method to place the immunization to be given order?
Thanks for the feedback in advance.
Brian
We use the HTML Immunization Management form. During the encounter the provider will alert the clinical staff (verbal or flag) that a patient needs "Flu Vaccine". The clinical staff will document the vaccine using the HTML Immunization Management form and also making sure the check box is clicked to include orders, (They also edit the flowsheet to document the vaccine was given so we can run reports for that observation). Once the document is signed, the immunization will display under the orders.
**If a provider wants the patient to have a Prevnar or Tdap at a future visit, our providers place a Pop-up in the patients chart, Example: "patient needs Tdap 2018".
This process/workflow works well for our Practice.
The providers in our clinics Order the vaccine that is set up as a Test Order. The MA then documents the immunization on the HTML form and completes the Order.
