Since the old portal I have stopped receiving emails regarding KB Updates, new service packs, etc. How can I go about getting this communication again?

Getting those important communications again is really a few clicks away.
I see you already have registered and have access to the CPS Customer Service Portal, so after you logon click the Community tab and then use the drop-down arrow to navigate to the CPS portal.
Next, click on Available Communities and JOIN those 'Chatter" groups you want to receive information on. Service Packs and KB posts will be the CPS Downloads group, but we strongly suggest Centricity Customer Communications, CPS/EMR Support as well as others. Once you JOIN a group, enter each group and set the notification frequency for each group, as it defaults to a Weekly Digest, which means every Sunday you will receive a recap of everything that was posted in the group since the last recap and that may not meet your needs.
