My physicians are interested in having a kiosk system in our lobby to help speed up the check in process. We've seen demos on Phreesia, E signature, and O'tech. Are there any others that anyone uses and likes?

We went with e signature. Why? because the others will not caputure history and it works on ipads so the cost was reasonable.
Currently we have purchased eSignature and with our portal we will capture histories, MU questions, review of systems, chief complaint, etc. We have set up eprescribe to import in medication list.
This will save so much time in the back and a staff member. We have a report on amounts to correct -- I am thinking of creating a VFE form that will show patient past balance as they check in.

Hi, Debi.
What kind of workflow do you have with the front and back staff for the portal? Do you use MA's and Front office staff or have items go directly to the Providers?
When we schedule we send them an email to sign on to portal -- our goal is to get it done before appointment -- if they have not completed forms on line then check in gives them a iPad and the parent completes all the histories (past, social etc) ROS, MU questions (risk factors) and HPI -- it flows into a review VFE. We tell the patient they will need to come early if not completed on line. If history is captured on line the eSignature is used to get consent and review. ** It should be noted we collect all demographic and insurance information at the time scheduling and we also run verification when we schedule to insure the information has been entered correctly.
We like how eSignature will capture all consents, and allows patient to review our information in our system (demographics, insurance etc) on that form we added current balance and a statement we will accept credit cards, checks or cash. Also works off iPads so we could buy more than a cost of a kiosk.
The portal comes in as a signed secure message (SSM) and goes into the chart. There is obs terms behind everything and this goes into a portal review document -- where the physician can review, change or add to the histories, ROS, HPI -- etc. This way we have the document the patient filled out and if it is incomplete or lacking information the physician can add and complete the history. The eSignature document is just a VFE document that the physician reviews and signs.
The MA will start the document (or update) and complete vitals and import medications and add to current meds - room the patient - in summary puts the room number. The doctor or PA will review the past medical history and all the information from portal or VFE form.
We created a custom flow sheet to make it easier to review portal or eSignature -- this way we have documented the history the patient gave and can see what our changes are.
Another reason the eSignature VFE forms work for us - is we can add outcome studies and research forms.
We did have to create some custom forms to make the work flow better for us.

We currently have Medisolve for our family practice kiosks. We are planning on going with Phreesia for our urgent care site and other practices in the network within a year.
Does the eSignature app allow the patient to fill in text fields, or is it signature only? Most of our forms have other fields besides just the signature.
Oh Yes — they can write an answer – call and get a demo before any decisions
we kept our fill in sections as low as possible – but you need them.

One thing I forgot to say -- we figure this will decrease check in staff at each site. No asking questions, scanning sheets -- etc
