I suspect (after probing GE Support) that we will not see CPS 12.2 software specs until CHUG next month. So... let's all speculate...
What do you think their requirements and supported SQL versions will be?
Personally, I have a feeling SQL 2008 will be dropped and SQL 2016 won't be on the list for another 2 years. You?
Sam, you are probably right and there is something on the Service Portal about no Windows 2008 or Windows 2008R2 Support, it must be Windows 2012 or R2. I would have preferred Windows Server 2016 with SQL 2016 but again, we all know all to well how this train goes. I did, however, take a brief look at the Hardware Calculator, so need to review that now.
Maybe for those who need EPCS we will need to find another solution because it is not be available for Texas.
Imprivata sales the ConfirmID (2-factor). They will not even sell to me because it must go through GE. I can not even get a head start on that portion
Dear GE:
Hey we need features, hey we have compliance issues, hey your software does this, but only for new york? Never mind the other states, what gives?
From: GE
We are still not giving you the upgrade, please wait. k, thx - GE
P.S. your support is due
I talked with GE on the hardware changes from 12 to 12.2 and was told that there are not any major changes to require additional power. However, they quickly followed up with the advice to look at our current utilization and determine what additional resources may need allocated in the future and what we have available. Luckily? this upgrade is happening alongside a eSX Host replacement, so we have a few options.
Simple trick from GE to see how well the hardware is setup for JBoss: Upon starting up, look at CPU and utilization. JBoss should settle down after 3-5 mins to minimal CPU usage. If it takes longer, or does not settle, consider allocating more vCPUs.
We run our App server with 6 vCPUs and 24 GB RAM for our 80 concurrent user license.
It is too bad about SQL 2016, but the adoption for most software is slow at times. With the expansion options into the cloud, I would hope GE would give it some real thought.
Seeing as how Windows 2016 will probably be released at the Ignite conference at the end of the month, it should surprise no one we have to wait on that.
GE has the hardware and software specs on the SSO. No more 2008R2.
