Does anyone know how I can get a stand alone test environment that I can put on my Home PC? I need to be able to work from home when I can't make it in due to illness and I don't carry a laptop. Thank you,
Suzanne Maris
I am only aware of that for the Oracle version of EMR. You could create a VM using a VM and install 2008 Server though.
Steve
You could do the VM per Steve, but I hope you have a massive home system.
If you use the Demo database for 12.0.x you would need:
1 Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 SP1 for the database and JBOSS
Minimum virtual hardware I would recommend is:
4 processors with 8gb RAM
Minimum disk space of 500 GB.
If it is 12.2 the hardware specs are the same, but the OS and SQL versions differ
1 Windows 2012 R2 with SQL Server 2012 SP1
If working from home, there also are remote access solutions out there.
I use an SSLVPN solution from Sonicwall. I can access everything from home with that.
I recently bought one of these:
I put linux on it and use Oracle Virtualbox for the hypervisor but you could do the same with Windows 7 and VMWare workstation pro for an extra $250. This thing has 48 GB RAM and lots of CPU power. Not sluggish at all.

jkratzer,
Thank you so very much for the information.
Well, that sounds pretty daunting! I appreciate the information!
Steve,
Thank you so much! I appreciate the information. This one sounds do able....now for the license...
Thank you all for your responses...now, does anyone know how to procure said application and license for the Oracle version?
Thank you,
Suz
GE allows it in the CPS world. you just have to have the word "test" somewhere in the servername from what I understand. I have not had a problem even when the GE license servers got confused and flipped my test/prod licenses.
Thank you so much. I appreciate your time and response.
