We are currently on CPS 9.5.1 and have our billing outsourced. I am looking to talk to other practices that have outside billing with GE and how you get information to your billing office, by paper or interface.
You can reach out to me directly at [email protected]
Hi.
We use AthenaCollector for scheduling and billing. They have an interface that uses the GE's DTS very reliably.
dnlustig, when you say "billing", are you sending charges to Centricity using the DTS? (I didnt think this was possible but could be wrong)
Or are you referring to just ADT "demographic" information.
thx -matt
Would you be willing to talk to me regarding your set up? We are currently sending an orders from out of the EMR, the registration sheet and print out of insurance card. If you are willing to discuss, please email me at [email protected].
Thanks!!
Matt,
We send paper copies of the order sheet from EMR, registration sheet and insurance card. Our outside billing company does have access to CPS, but we are looking to see what other companies are doing so we don't try to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks!!
We use MRG Medical Solutions and are very pleased. They access our system via remote desktop connection and process billing in our PM side.
Your outside billing entity should be able to RDP into your system so they can make sure all billing is performed within the 72 hour window. They also need this so they can run and monitor the appropriate reports that guide them when counseling you on denial educatipon for staff, audit triggers to be addressed with clinicians, and any monthly reporting they provide to your practice.
Also by using RDP accessing CPS, in v10.1 there is a billing task management feature that allows billing tasks to be put into queues and offering greater reporting of billing productivity.
Our billing company wants us to build an interface that will load all the information they need to bill. They would prefer to not learn GE and have to do the billing through GE, which is what your company is doing via RDP?
It would be nice if you could have a company that already knows GE and has the arsenal of reporting so that you can really evaluate the billing process and start to make more money..not just bill what you can. . The billing platform has and is continuing to change, if companies do not start working with offices to educate clinicians and forecast issues due to historcal billing data, they are doing a disservice to the office. Audits are up, payments are down, you need to have a clear picture of how to maximize on your E&M, stay under the radar for audits, and lower your days in AR. You can message me and I will shoot you a report that monitors all of these and takes all of 30 seconds to run. I would talk with them more about fitting your practices needs, not vice versa.
Our billing company, MRG Medical Solutions, does work inside of and knows the GE software well. They did amazing things with our AR within the first couple of months.
