We are having issues trying to bill NDC numbers and units. Specifically on chemo meds. BCBS wants to know the NDC units on all meds but we have been told that it can't be sent on the claim. But I have in black and white that the NDC units should go on the Loop ID 2410 Segment CTP04 for electronic claims. Why can't CPS do this???? or can it and we have just been told wrong?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can certainly send the units on an electronic claim. You can either default it at the procedure or fee schedule level, or you can add it ad-hoc on the claim. Inside the visit, click on the TESTS/DRUG/VISION TAB and click on SHOW ALL “again” to enter in Drug pricing composite unit: Standard is UNIT at this time. ALWAYS select UNIT.
I'd be happy to have an online meeting with you to show you.
Also, you must fill out the Note on the Charge 1 Tab in the ndc 5-4-2 format and qualify that note type with "additional information".
