I am in need to verify how to appropriately bill for np's. Does the Dr. name need to be under responsible provider or resource for the Dr. to get paid correctly

That depends on several things. I take it that you do NOT credential your NP's? If not...and you want the claim to be billed under their supervising MD, you can go into Administration into the Resp Provider set up and go to the "Billing Identification" tab for the NP and mark the "services may be billed under another provider's billing information". Then create a row for that specific insurance carrier or group and mark the "Specific Provider" radio box under "Filing Provider" in the middle of the screen. That way, the visits are all under the NP for reporting and production purposes, but when the claim goes out, it pulls that other provider as billing provider on the claim.
