Our OB providers currently use the Patient Banner- OB/Gyn but they only want to see the EDC and Weeks Gestation for patients that are currently pregnant. They especially do not like to see the ones that have recently miscarried to show in the Banner. Does anyone have a banner like this that they would be willing to share or explain how to keep EDC and Weeks Gestation from showing when not pregnant.
Thanks,
Kathy
I am working with our OB/GYN Staff to try and find a way to accomplish this as well. The real challenge is finding a consistent workflow for marking these patients. I am thinking of building a function that checks if the last Delivery Type in the OB Flowsheet is after the EDC was entered, and if so, not displaying EDC and Weeks Gestation.
If someone has already found a good solution, I would love to hear.
Thank you,
Daniel C.
I have a client that I use an obsterm to indicate the beginning and end of the pregnancy. If there is a date in the field, then the current date of the EDC and EGA have to be after that date. We use the durationdays data symbol to determine this. If there is a space in the field, then the last pregnancy has ended, and nothing shows. We tried using a second obsterm for the end date, but found that it actually was more cumbersome. You could use something other than a space, but the providers here didn't want to see anything for the previous value for the origination date if there wasn't a current pregnancy.
Hope that helps.
