I am having one of those moments where I am questioning what I know in the system even though I have been in it for over 15 years....TGIF
If a document is started and something is entered in a field that is an obsterm and that note is put on hold with signed clinical list changes.... And then someone else joins that document and discards it, should it let them discard it? It seems that it should stop them because there were signed obsterms in the note.
I know it will stop them if a med, allergy, order or problem is entered but it doesn't seem to stop them if it is just observation terms in the document. Is this a bug or is this how it has always been and I am losing my mind?
is there a permissions in the system that I have granted that I should not have that would allow this?
Thanks in advance....
I believe this is how the system has always worked. To my knowledge, clinical list changes include changes to problems, meds, allergies and directives. While observations appear on clinical list changes, they are not locked or signed like problems or medications. Observations are not committed until the note is signed.
I am not aware of any permissions that would be applicable to this scenario, but I will be the first to admit that there are probably many things that I still do not know.
Wishful thinking that information couldn't be deleted like that. Thanks for the info!
