Anybody have experience with connecting the Orchard Lab system with Centricity to receive test results back in to the EMR? We just acquired a clinic that uses Orchard Lab with GE but none of the results are coming back in to the EMR and we can't figure out why....
All help appreciated!
We purchased Orchard Harvest this past year and recently interfaced it with CPS10. We have it set up to complete the tests in CPS after the provider signs the result. We purchased the interface through both GE and Harvest. They customized the interface for our needs. I gave all of our information (i.e. tests, cpt codes, specimen containers, specimen storage requirements, etc...) to Orchard and they built our database for us. We built the cross reference file and they put the LOINC codes in Harvest. We've only had a few glitches since going live and they have been quick to fix them for us.
Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions about the process...
Thanks Terrah, how do you have your lab stuff setup? All setup as tests or services? Or a combo of both?
Everything is set up as a test.
Thanks. We seem to have some issue around billing that this office has them split. TESTS for things they send out but anything they do inhouse they have setup as SERVICE...which doesn't go anywhere outside of Centricity. Not sure why its setup that way...but I'm with you, I thought they all had to be TESTS.
We only use services for things like office visits, injections, medical supplies, etc... All of our lab tests are set up as tests. We separate what we do in-house from what we send to the reference lab using a service provider called "Harvest" for the in-house stuff and "EIU Lab" for the reference lab stuff. That way, everything prints in the lab so we know what to draw, but only the in-house tests cross into the LIS system.
We also use Harvest with CEMR . We have our labs set up as tests and services (point of care testing is billed as a service). We have most of our labs going over to Harvest as a test and if we are using a reference lab they are then sent from Harvest to PAML, Quest or other. We also have some labs set up as outside labs-these are tests that are set to automatically print a lab order which can then be taken to other labs since we have several remote locations.
Most of our labs come back into the EMR and complete the order. Most of our labs are mapped and go to the flowsheet using a cross reference file.
Do you have any specific questions?
Thanks Kevin! Can I have one of my analysts give you a call to discuss your setup?
Sorry...Kathy!! Can I have one of my team call you and discuss how you have this working with both tests and services?
Feel free to call me to discuss
Can you call me to discuss or is there a number I can call to discuss
