Hello,
I am looking to streamline some of our lab orders that we order on a semi-regular basis. We have several labs that have a "re-order" at 3, 6, 9 months, etc. Right now the provider orders three to four different orders and places the time frame of when the lab is to be done in the notes. I am new to re-occurring labs at the practice and am wondering if anyone else out there has a better system I am not considering. Is there a way to put something into a protocol? We don't have custom buttons but do use custom lists for our lab orders, trying to stay away from custom buttons since there are so many labs we order on a daily basis.
Appreciate any workflow improvement ideas!
Thank you!
If you use the Process Lab Order form you can place standing orders that will automatically submit to the lab on the due date(s). Our lab interface is through Liaison and what I'm not sure of is if this form is only associated to Liaison's interface or if it is a generic form used by all lab interfaces.
We use Liaison/EMR link ... and clearly not using it to it's full potential! Thank you both for your response! Monte, I will reach directly out to you for further clarification.
Thank you
Amy
You will need to go in and add your custom list order names, but this is used to do x order(s) over x weeks in x months or occurrences.
In the function window on the right in VFE scroll to the bottom and you will see the function gCustListNames. Swap out our list and add in yours, should be all you'll need to do.
Alternatively, TestMgmt this is my version of the CCC test management since theirs don't accept commas.
adaniel- you did this by location on your visibility-- interesting! I need to think about this a bit to decide how I will use the visibility- our custom lists are set up very differently (and honestly, very confusing at this point). Not sure how much to tackle knowing that the new orders module is coming later this year--..... Appreciate the form and the coding ideas!
Thanks again!
