What is everyone doing for patients who do not have an email address for electronic timely access (Objective 8) We have the Surescripts Portal and are doing the add from chart workflow but you have to have an email address. We can generate a PIN for these patients to get credit but they can't actually access the portal without an email address.
We have a decline button that our staff checks to get credit for those that either do not want an account or that do not have an email address. Surescripts walked us through how to do this. We had to make a change to the PIC generator form.
So what does it use, an obsterm? PATPORTALPIN perhaps? Is the idea here that every patient needs something in that obs to be counted?
I was a couple seconds from making my own post about this to be honest.
I am also interested in this. If all we have to do is populate the obs term then that is doable via the edit flow sheet mechanism. Not sure if that meets the measure however.
