We are using the Sure Scripts patient portal and are checking to see everyone's workflow to send outreach reminders to their patient's for health maintenance items via the portal. Currently we have the option to run the inquiry and create the letter and then have to append the letter in the patient chart and send as an attachment to a portal message. Is there an easier way?

I am not sure of your specific workflow or the flexibility around it, but you could use SureScripts Automated Clinical Messaging (ACM) to automatically do the emailing for you?
We use ACM to send out results letters to our patients. ACM looks for a document type (combined with a specific OBS in our case) to determine if the document should be emailed out.

Is this a separate program that works with the portal?
yep its an add on SureScripts has! They have info about it on their website if you have a log in, or you can shoot them an email.
