Can anyone who is currently using Phreesia, provide insight on how patients are paying balances through your portal if they do not have an upcoming visit? We are a specialty practice that sees thousands of patients in the local ERs. These patients may never come in our offices, thus they will never have an appointment scheduled. We bill for the hospital consult visit, receive payment from the insurance company and then bill the patient their balance. When they go to our online bill pay (which is through Phreesia), it will not show a balance. There is a balance in CPS but without an appointment scheduled this information is not passed to Phreesia.
This is a major problem for our practice and I would think any other specialty practice as well. If you have developed a work around for this issue, we would love to hear it.

Phreesia has the ability to do a batch upload of patients with balances. We had them do that when we thought that the billing office would be using Phreesia to process payments. Since we decided not to go that route, we have not had them do it again. In your case, they would need to schedule the batch upload on a regular basis.
