This is probably one of the best discussions I have seen on CHUG in a long while. Printers are almost my least favorite thing to deal with (Fax machines are worse) but here is what I have done in the past and currently with the small number of TS clients. I used a dedicated print server at the main site in the past when I managed a Citrix shop. Worked well and I don't see why it wouldn't work with newer versions of Citrix. Each user session mapped to \\printserver\printerX. Those printers existed at remote sites and were set up with IP printing. This worked over broadband cable modem connections to the remote sites.
In a more intimate setting like I have now, I do IP printing directly from the TS client which is set up to print to an IP printer. The downside there is that the print jobs could mix together if two people print to the printer at the same time. By doing it this way, though, the printers are available to all TS users; they just need to know which printer to print to.
In either case, the users need to know how to select the trays since we use the big multifunction machines with multiple trays

Help! does anyone know how to permanently undo task based printing? We enabled it and our 10 locations were defaulting to printers at different locations across 15-20 terminal servers. This is becoming a huge issue. Even though I disabled task based printing, the EMR still does not print to the default printer
Thank you in advance!!!
