Is anyone out there using GE to host there CPS or to host a private network. We would be interested in your feedback. Please respond to [email protected]
GE does not host but they are partnered with switch.com. Their website shows very impressive data center pics and they boast high up-time but I am not sure what benefit you get from hosting with them vs. anyone else unless they can give you a really good price. I am looking at a local company to do hosting in my city. I do that because I can increase our clinic's up-time by having a direct fiber connection to them because we may want to keep running even if the ISP is down or if there is a major outage at the root hint server level like what happened in 2016 which affected Facebook, Twitter, Netflix and many others for a the better part of a day. As long as there is an internet there will be bad guys trying to cause problems. Cloud hosting provides some very high value targets for these guys.
Eventually it won't matter when CPS goes to the cloud. So far, every "cloud" service we have been transitioned into have had outages, more so than our locally hosted apps. It doesn't matter if your cloud provider is up if you can't get to them so make sure your local ISP infrastructure is sound. It could have a detrimental effect on your patient care if you don't

I thought the GE cloud hosting was through TrueNorth? or does TrueNorth use Switch?
